Shenandoah University’s Math and Science Departments invite you to join us in welcoming Dr. Maria Rodgers for the 2026 Annual Warrington Guest Speaker Series. Dr. Rodgers specializes in immunotoxicology and comparative immunology in coastal and marine organisms. In this talk, Dr. Rodgers will explore the effects of PFAS, a group of “forever chemicals,” on marine organisms. Her work includes examination of PFAS contaminant effects on fish microbiomes, as well as how PFAS interact with increasing ocean temperatures to exert toxicity.
